Each year, Loveland Stage Company recognizes a graduating high school student with its Creative Arts Scholarship. We are offering the scholarship again this year in the amount of $1,000. In order to qualify for the scholarship, the graduating student must reside in the Loveland City School District, attend Loveland High School, or be an offspring of a Loveland Stage Company member. This scholarship is intended to be used toward college or university tuition, room and board, or books.
Loveland Stage Company wishes to encourage and support young local talent. Therefore, prospective applicants must be planning to further their education in the Creative Arts. Qualifying areas of study include, but are not limited to: art, music, theater, photography, film, dance, and majors that support these studies. Students are asked to submit examples of their talent in their chosen field and a high school transcript demonstrating the ability to succeed academically as part of the application process.
Camdyn Drohan, a 2026 graduate of Loveland High School, is the recipient of both the $1,000 Loveland Stage Company Creative Arts Scholarship and the $1,000 Pat Furterer Memorial Scholarship. This fall, Camdyn will attend Belmont University, where she plans to double major in Film and Theatre. Her experience spans performing, writing, editing, and directing for both film and live productions. She also submitted two short films to the 2026 Loveland Shorts Film Festival.
During high school, Camdyn appeared in all eight of Loveland High School’s theatrical productions. As if that weren’t enough, she also performed in nine community theatre productions, including Loveland Stage Company’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, where she played Benjamin, the youngest brother. In her scholarship acceptance speech, Camdyn spoke about the sense of family she found through the production and how the cast truly became “her brothers.”
Camdyn’s theatrical journey began long before high school. She appeared in 19 stage productions before entering ninth grade and credits community theatre with giving young performers opportunities to grow, connect with people beyond their school circles, and stretch their creative wings. Through those experiences, she has had the chance to take on memorable roles such as Beetlejuice, Olaf in Frozen, and Crush in Finding Nemo.
We wish Camdyn the very best as she begins this exciting new chapter in Nashville and look forward to seeing where her talents take her. Whether she is on stage, backstage, behind the camera, or on the screen, Camdyn is well on her way to living her dream.
