Please help The Loveland Stage Company win up to $100,000 for a capital improvement to the HVAC system in the building. The Gannet Foundation is teaming up with A Community Thrives and MightyCause.com to sponsor a four-week fundraising campaign. As a small non-profit, LSC needs to raise at least $3000 to qualify to win the $100,000 grant.
DONATING: Here’s how you can help: Donate to LSC using the links below. You will be taken to a special fundraising page, hosted by MightyCause (similar to the GoFundMe site). USING THIS WEBSITE IS THE ONLY WAY THAT YOU DONATION COUNTS TOWARDS THE GRANT GIVEAWAY. Our goal is to raise at least $5000. That amount will get the improvements started, even if the big grant eludes us.
Increasing the Chances of LSC Winning: Each “unique” contribution scores bonus points towards earning the large Grant money. Two donations of $25, each using separate emails, is ranked higher than if one person gives $50. Take an extra moment and ask each member of your family to give something ($5 minimum). Any amount helps, as long as it uses a different email.
Four Weeks to Act! All funds must be raised in the four weeks from July 19th – August 14th.
PLEASE FORWARD THIS PLEA TO ANYONE WISHING TO DONATE TO A GOOD CAUSE.
Anna Colleto, a 2021 Loveland High School graduate, is the recipient of this year’s $1000 Loveland Stage Company Creative Arts Scholarship.
Anna will be attending the University of Missouri, where she will be double majoring in Journalism and Theatre. She has been admitted to the Missouri School of Journalism in the Walter Williams Scholars Program which includes a 5-year program culminating in a Master’s degree and an internship as a freshman with the local NBC TV affiliate.
Anna’s family moved to Loveland in 2016, and she began her 8th grade experience as Belle in the middle school’s production of Beauty and the Beast Jr. While Anna participated in every production at Loveland High School and earned two lead actress nominations from the local Cappies chapter, she also found time to perform with other groups around town, like Acting Up, Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, and Cincinnati Actors Studio and Academy. She participated in certification programs, like the CASA High School 2-year program and CTC’s selective Summer Intensive and All-Star programs.
Although voice, dance, and acting lessons filled Anna’s days outside of school, as a student she was a member of the Cappies critic team, president of the school’s Thespian troop, part of HOPE SQUAD, and a singer/dancer in By Request show choir. She served as one of two student representatives to the Board of Education during her junior and senior years.
Anna currently works at Starbucks on Loveland-Madeira Road, so stop by and congratulate her!
For many years, LSC has participated in The Amazing Charity Race held in Loveland and Milford. We typically have a ball sharing activities for the race participants that have varied from acting out skits to dance routines. It has always been a lot of fun for everyone. In addition, the Amazing Race committee always makes contribution to LSC for our participation.
Once again the Loveland Firemen’s Association has stepped on to the stage. At the recent City Council meeting, Deputy Chief Mike Books presented Pat Furterer with a very generous check to assist the Loveland Stage Company during these difficult times. This gift is greatly appreciated and our sincere thanks goes out to this valuable and outstanding organization.
While the Coronavirus pandemic has closed down so many things, Loveland Stage Company found a way to keep theater alive – Radio! While doing our best to keep social distancing and other good practices in place, our cast brings you The Importance of Being Earnest By Oscar Wilde, Radio Style! As in the tradition of old-time radio, we will be releasing each of the three acts, one at a time (July 31, Aug. 7, Aug. 14). The first act is available now on our Current Season page. You can choose the “Radio Only” version, or the “Video of the Radio Show” version. Both are compatible with your computer, tablet or phone! Listen to us on the go!
There are no tickets for sale for these events, so won’t you consider a donation to the Loveland Stage Company? You can donate on line by clicking the Donate button just above the PRompter on the right side of any page on our site. Thank you, and…..
Marjory Clegg dance and tap classes on Saturday mornings at the theater will continue for the foreseeable future. In order to accommodate all who wish to participate, Margie has decided to hold two 90-minute classes rather than one 2-hour class each Saturday. Each class will still be divided between ballet and tap. The classes will run from 9:00-10:30am and then from 10:30-12:00. Sherry Michalak will be circulating a monthly e-mail where participants can sign up for either class. Please remember that all classes will be limited to 10 people and masks are required.
You can make sure you are on Sherry’s e-mail list by writing her at shercasm (at) yahoo.com.
All are welcome! For more information or to sign up, call Marjory at 513-683-6169
